FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What makes this conference uniquely geared to young women? Why should I come?

Glad you asked! We Will is not a Women’s Retreat nor an Older Adult Camp type event. It’s a Conference geared to our gender and generation, with the goal of validating and encouraging young women leaders, and helping them fulfill their passion and potential.

Who is eligible?

We are calling all women soldiers, employees, volunteers, ECHELON and board members who are within the target age of 21-40, and all active women officers of all ages, who are engaged in and passionate about the mission of TSA.

How does registration work? Who approves and how am I notified?

To register, you must apply online at events.sauss.net; your application will be forwarded for approval – first from your corps officer, and then from the division. Once your application has been approved, you will be notified by email.

Since we have to fill out an application, does that mean we can be turned down?

Yes. In order to attend the conference, you must be approved by your corps officer and by the division. Officers who wish to attend must go through the usual channels for conference approval (in addition to applying online).

If I have to back out, will I still have to pay the registration fee?

You have until August 1 to withdraw from the conference; after that, your registration fee is forfeited.

What if I need to make changes to my hotel reservation?

Changes to your reservation can be made up to 72 hours before the conference.

Will I need a car to get around?

It’s completely up to you. As shown in the ‘Eateries’ section of this page, there’s plenty of walkable food options nearby, as well as a trolley that will take you around the resort. Daytime parking is free, but you will be charged a $10 fee per night to park your car at the hotel.

What should I plan for, cost-wise?

Let’s break it down! In addition to the registration fee, you’ll also be responsible for:

          • Cost of travel
                • Driving? Gas + overnight resort parking ($10/night)
                • Flying? Plane ticket + paying for a shuttle/taxi to take you to/from the resort
          • Meals
                • Budget for four main meals  (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch & dinner, Sunday lunch)
          • Offering
                • We’ll be taking up a special offering during the conference to benefit the WORTH project
          • Spending money
                • Marketplace of Ideas – variety of vendors will be brought in for We Will, and you’ll have the opportunity to shop on Saturday
                • Musical guest Lara Landon will have a merch table at We Will, so look forward to purchasing shirts and CDs!
                • Trade South – they’ll be setting up a store within the conference center, and will be available most of Friday & Saturday (outside of meetings). Place an order with them before the conference, and they’ll bring it to you in Florida, and avoid cost of shipping!
          • Hotel – the room rate is $109/night for two nights

What about food during the conference?

Lunch and dinner are on your own during the conference – we will be providing a light snack on Friday night as well as breakfast Saturday and Sunday. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the resort!

What if I need special assistance?

Not a problem! State your needs in your application and we’ll do our best to accomodate them. (The hotel does meet ADA requirements).

What if I’m coming alone?

No worries, we can’t wait to meet you at The Meeting Place. This is a designated place where you can connect with other women who would love to hang out with you during the conference!

How can I stay up-to-date on the conference?

We’re so glad you asked! Every Wednesday is #WeWillWednesday on our Facebook page, where we faithfully post information and announcements regarding the conference. Any news will go there first, before showing up on our website.

By July, you’ll receive an informational packet in your email, which will expound upon on the details of the conference. You will receive one final packet right before the event as well, with any changes or additions made.

How can I help promote the conference?

Wow, really?! Thanks for your interest in helping. With a territory of our size, it’s often hard to get the word to every single eligible person. We’d love it if you would ‘share’ our #WeWillWednesday posts on Facebook, and talk about the conference with any friends who you think might be interested!

Will the conference be live-streamed or recorded?

The conference will not be live-streamed, but it will be recorded. Footage will be available online after the event.

As an officer, do I need to bring a delegate in order to attend?

No, we’re not requiring that. However, your division can if they so choose. All active women officers are invited to attend, regardless of their age.

Can I attend without my officer?

Of course! There are many reasons why an officer may not be able to attend, but don’t let that preclude you from coming.

I‘m not a part of Women’s Ministries - can I still come?

YES!! This conference is for women IN ministry. If you are a woman within the ages of 21-40 and you’re an active leader in any capacity within the Army – we’d love for you to come!
