A quilting ministry could be a special project, perhaps recurring throughout the year. It can include both individual and group work. Carefully consult and consider your context. Once you start, be sure to give the ministry enough time to get going.
This ministry involves a) cleaning out personal closets periodically and sharing a shirt or top to be repurposed for making a blanket, crib blanket or lap throw, b) making the quilts and c) distributing the results.
GO and share the warmth of God’s great love. Give quilts away at Salvation Army shelters and transitional housing units when residents are away. Leave a note and pray over the bed. Giving quilts away at home visits (whether on the street, in an agency or private home) is another great opportunity.
